The Essence
Through my art, I am sharing a piece of my soul with you.
The Art
Each creation is hand-forged by artist-metalsmith Michelle Varkonja in her home studio in Port McNeill, making every piece as unique as the stories they honour.
She embraces working with both sterling silver & solid gold and often showcases local stones in her designs.
Her quality of jewelry is embraced as authentic heirlooms; which tell a story in connection with the land and follows the journey to the higher self.
"I hope that by creating and sharing my art, it will encourage others to find what authentically ignites their passion."

The Artist
Michelle Varkonja, Artist & Metalsmith,
brings an authentic expression of her background in forest ecology to her work as an artist. Creating pieces that celebrate the Rugged Coast & the Coastal Temperate Rainforest.
Her work has translated into authentically hand-forged jewelry that showcases stones and thoughtful design, expressing poetically earthy and grounding vibes.
Living tucked away in the quiet freedom of Northern Vancouver Island (Port McNeill), she finds endless inspiration because she is fuelled by a life where creativity meets lifestyle.
Thank you for being here for this next chapter of my life where I get to share my passions in a uniquely creative way.
My story continued...
When my dear friend Lacey Rose called and asked if I would be up for being interviewed for her podcast, I nervously but enthusiastically said yes! Fully understanding that she wasn’t really asking but stating a fact.
The real enthusiasm of saying yes, which is completely out of my comfort zone came from being immensely proud of what she is doing and wanting to support every ounce of it!
So here is “The Forest Understory” podcast by Lacey Rose.
Forests play an important part in our lives. The Forest Understory podcast, through interviews and features, tells stories of human experience and connection with forests.
